Family Reunion Testimonials

Dear Gregg,
I wish to thank you and your staff for providing our members with a wonderful and memorable time during our recent visit to the Pocmont. Everything was done to perfection to make this a great week. Each member of your staff was courteous, friendly and professional in all dealings with members of the Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans. It is no wonder, that we have chosen to return to the Pocmont for almost twenty years to enjoy each others company and camaraderie. God Willing, we look forward to continuing the relationship with your establishment fro many years to come.
Congratulation on a well-run resort and our best wishes for continued success.
Cordially,
Millard F Dougherty

Dear Mr. Artzt,
We just want to take this opportunity to recognize a special member of your staff whom we feel is deserving of an award for outstanding service - JoAnne Thomas, Director of Sales!
JoAnne was very accommodating, cordial and professional in honoring our many requests and keeping us abreast of our reservations as well as cancellations pertaining to the Legrand Family Reunion. I might add that JoAnne was just as helpful and accommodating to us with our first reunion held at Pocmont in August 2006. This year, however, we planned ahead and sent out our correspondence to the family early in order for them to respond accordingly to the posted deadlines. With JoAnne's guidance and assistance, a majority of reservations were made without incidence or confusion. We also had the weekend carnival, instrumented by JoAnne that was another attraction to our itinerary. It was just a great family reunion weekend!
Please be assured, without hesitation, that we highly recommend and refer family and friends to visit your resort for a grand time.
Sincerely,
Gloria Y. Boone

I can’t thank you, the Pocmont staff/crew/family, enough for the wonderful weekend my family and I had at your resort. This was by far our best reunion.
I wish more of the family had come but for various reasons including costs, did not attend. I tried very hard to show how this event was cost effective. With the variety of rooms, variety of activities and the outstanding meals...well, we’ve paid around the same amount with past reunions and got less. I for one am tired of eating just ‘ok’ food or finding a fast food restaurant for breakfast or lunch. I'm tired of eating some of our family members’ food too...some have lost their touch in their senior years while others didn’t pay attention in cooking class...if it is not heated in a microwave they don’t know what to do. Every meal was fantastic at Pocmont. If someone in the kitchen messed up, we missed it. The rooms were great. No one had any complaints, in fact, all were pleasantly surprised. Those in the Westview said they enjoyed the view from their ‘balconies.’
Clearly, everyone enjoyed himself or herself. The children, of various ages, all had a ball. The little ones loved the indoor pool; my pre-teen loved the archery; and our teen had a great time with the other kids his age. Those who went to the shows said each was very entertaining. And I’m not sure but a few may have lost at Bingo, no one wanted to talk about it—which has been the same way they act after going to the casinos...so you get the picture.
The one thing all agreed on, was the fact that after you parked your car that was it—you didn’t have to go to your car again until it was time to leave. Everything you need was right there in the resort. A few of the ladies were even surprised at the items available in the store. It satisfied their shopping bug.
I can’t single out anyone because everyone did a great job; from the front desk to the activities staff to housekeeping to the maintenance crew to the waiters/waitresses...all were just great. Again, thank you very much for making this event easy for my aunt and I. Reunion is a book of tasks and for once there were very few for the committee to perform, thanks to Pocmont. May God bless all of you.
Thank you,
Sharon L. Alston

The call came in one afternoon, when she didn’t have much to do.
Maybe she was feeling melancholy but hopefully not too blue.
“I have an idea for a get together,
We'll go inside so we don't have to worry about the weather!
I’ll plan it all, collect the money, it will be such a cinch—
I know everyone will help if I find myself in a pinch!”
I thought that she was crazy,
And I thought she was insane,
But after all the phone calls it was no longer such a game.
The calls were placed, the plans were blessed,
Now to get us all at Pocmont
Might prove to be a test.
She wanted to know who wants a suite
Or a deluxe
“No problem,” she said, “as long as you have the bucks.”
So many times she heard us all at one time or another,
“Can so and so come and can we bring our mother?”
“Everyone is welcome,” she would always say,
“It doesn't matter if you’re not family you’ll be one of us this day!”
I wonder how all this will go,
And what memories we will keep,
But one thing is for certain, she has lost a lot of sleep!
So thank you MaryAnne and for all that you did do,
For getting us together,
We certainly
DO LOVE YOU!
With love and thanks for all the planning,
You pulled this one off!
Love always,
Fran

I want to extend my gratitude for all the help you and your staff provided my entire family, to experience a successful family reunion. Many family members enjoyed their stay at Pocmont and have voiced returning for another reunion. Thank you again.

Just a note to say thanks for all your help. My family had a great time and we are already talking about having another reunion. The resort and staff were all terrific and had a lot to offer. This was our first of many reunions to come. Thanks for making this one a memorable one.

I want to take this opportunity to thank you and the Pocmont staff for a wonderful family reunion. Everyone had a great time (they especially liked the karaoke and the comedian on Sunday night). The accommodations were perfect, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. In particular, the hospitality room suited our family to a tee.

I am Aimee Wiercinski’s mother and was part of the Bruno Family Reunion. Now that the summer is ending, I finally have a moment to acknowledge all your help to Aimee in making our reunion such a memorable event. With such a large group, I was amazed that everything went so smoothly and I realize that we have you to thank for that. Everyone in our group seemed pleased with the meals, accommodations and variety of activities, and having access to our own hospitality room for the whole weekend proved to be the icing on the cake. We had a wonderful time and couldn’t have chosen a more perfect or beautiful location to hold our reunion. Our only regret was that it was over too quickly. Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Anne B. Wiercinski

On behalf of the Northeastern Chapter of the Army Counter Intelligence Corps Veterans, I wish to thank you and through you your staff for a wonderful time during our visit to the Pocmont. Everything was just fine. The food, as usual, was just as you promise—good and plentiful. Your resort is no place to go for a person trying to control his or her weight—that is a losing battle. But what is the most that you have to offer, is the competence and friendliness of your staff. We have been coming yearly to the Resort since 1987 and our members have developed a close friendship with you and your staff. It is truly a home away from away. Through the years, and almost yearly, we have been forced to call upon your staff for assistance in caring for a member who has become ill. We have needed aid, awaiting the arrival of professional emergency personnel. This year was no exception. Seth Campbell, who has been an annual guest, was taken seriously ill due to a heart condition. If it had not been for Paula, I believe that Seth would not have survived. We are indebted to her. The years have taken a toll though. When the time was when we had well over 100 members attending, we now must struggle to have 60. As one might surmise, the ‘Greatest Generation’ is beginning to show its age. But, we intend to continue to make our annual visit to the Pocmont. Your staff was most helpful to me: JoAnne, Camie, Eileen, Paula, Jean, Larry, Sylvia, Tony, etc., etc., etc. and of course you, Gregg. Again I thank you and your crew for being such good hosts.
Cordially yours,
Millard F Dougherty, Col (ret)

Recently the USS ROCHE held its biennial reunion at your very fine resort. This is the fourth time we’ve met there. In 2003 we had a regular reunion and twice before we had mini reunions of fellows living within reasonable traveling distance. This is the second time we have done a full reunion and each time seems to get better with the members enjoying it better than the one before. At our business meeting this year we voted unanimously to return in 2007. Our group, though small in number, since there are not too many WWII veterans still living, feels we receive the kind of cooperation and hospitality that might be reserved and awarded to a much larger group. That feeling is obviously misplaced, since I’m sure everyone is accorded the same cordiality and hospitality we received. I filled in and returned the Pocmont form recently sent to me that asked specific questions relative to our stay. However, I would be remiss if I did not take this opportunity to express our group’s and particularly my delight at the cooperation extended to us by Maureen Vagelakos. Putting together a reunion of octogenarians is no simple task...we, unfortunately, get more demanding, picky and cantankerous. That said, nothing I asked of Maureen was left undone. She performed heroically and, believe me, these guys have seen a lot of heroes in years gone by.

I would just like to tell you that we had a very successful reunion at the Pocmont Resort and to commend you on your staff that take their work very seriously and do everything necessary in taking care of a person’s needs in making them feel relaxed and comfortable.
I would like to tell you about my experience with some of your staff that I had a lot of contact with. First JoAnne, who took care of our contract negotiations and followed up with all of my needs even while she was on vacation. In the 12 years I have been doing reunions, she is the best and most cooperative sales manager I have ever worked with. Elaine, who works like JoAnne, fills in when JoAnne isn’t available and also took care of our needs. Cliff, who, without being told, maintained the hospitality room, set up and broke down the room for our membership meeting, and when we had a special request, he was there in a split second. Pam, who I don’t think ever goes home, as I would see her from sun up to sundown, she helped us on the front desk, in the dining room and was always right there to take care of anyone’s needs. Phil, a young fellow who always has a smile on his face, did every thing possible by working around our schedule, keeping the group active, busy and happy. I was amazed at how the entire staff put on different hats and fill in where ever help was needed.
Comments from some of the members were that the rooms are large and clean, the food was great, and they would like to come back to Pocmont. Again thanks to you and the entire staff at Pocmont for doing a great job and as I told JoAnne you and your staff on a count of 1 to 10 receive a 12.
Sincerely,
Ken Hoffman
